In the last month I've had a number of practise games with mixed results. Against middle of the road armies it can dominate fairly well. The alpha strike from the command squad is good, but fairly easy to defend against. The IC's are pretty tough but I do wonder if they'll earn their points in most games, the unit does seem to take a lot of the brunt of opponents fire power.
I need to get better at multi-charging rather than breaking off the ICs if possible. Most times I've broken on of the ICs off from the unit it gets targetted and killed once its destroyed it's target. Without the feel no pain from the apothacary they are alot more fragile.Eldar still a problem, their high speed and rate of fire mean they can keep away from my bikes.
I am half considering dropping the Wolf Lord in favour of a second Thunderfire and second Storm Talon so I have multiple threats which can deal damage and not just one super unit which if cracked is practically an auto loss from that point on.
I also need to get better at remember some of the smaller rules from the army, pinning from the Cannon, Concussion from the grav guns and the auspec on the chapter master to name a few.
I think this will be my last blog post until I get back from America, so I'm also going to use the time to mention the York Garrison Summer Solstice.
